Looking to exchange info on families related to the HULSAVER family of Canojaharie, NY from the 1800s. Henry Hulsaver was born to Pheby DAVIS and Stephen HULSAVER on July 6, 1810 in Canajoharie, Montgomery County, New York. (Ref. Protestant Dutch Reformed Church, Mapleton, transcription on record at the Fonda, NY history and records) Henry married Catherine CAIN who was born about 1812 (perhaps in New Jersey?) The HULSAVERS were most likely boat people living and working on the Erie Canal and waterways, maybe fish mongers. Henry and Catherine are burried in Prospect Hill Cemetery. After Catherine died in 1863, Henry married Sophrona BROWN HUTCHINGS. Sophrona had children william and Ruah from her first marriage. I have seen Hulsaver spelled as: HOLSAVER, HULSHAVER, HALSAVER, HULTSAVER, HULSAUER,... Children of Henry and Catherine include: Stephen John Mary (m. THOMAS) Henry (m. DOUGLAS) Phoebe (m. THOMAS) Eliza Elsea Hannah (m. HELMER?) Please see my HULSAVER page for more info at: http://www.visceralproductions.com/genealogy/ Another HULSAVER family of Canajoharie begins with Christopher HULSAVER and his wife Catherine. Christopher was born about 1812 in Ireland. Christopher and Catherine children include: Josephine Peter Mary (m. KENEIPP?) Daniel H Sarah A. (m. GOODRICH) Christopher Caroline (m. EMBROSE / AMBROSE) Ella Melissa (m. GARLOCK) Rosselin Any info about these mysterious HULSAVERS would be much appreciated. Thanks, Denise | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
