Hi! I am looking for Cordelia A. Dawson Brattain born abt 1849 in IL. She was married to Humphrey L. Brattain. He died years before her. I find her in the 1930 census living at 730 N. 8th Street, Seattle, King, WA. with her son James W. Brattain. Her surname in the census is wierd. Brattain is crossed out and above it very small is written Martins or maybe Martino. I would like to find her death date, grave and her obituary and can't afford to send for any death certificate and don't really have a clue as to what date she died or what name she was under. I would also like to figure out if she did marry a Martins between 1920 and 1930. She was Brattain in the 1920 census. Can anyone help me out here? I have been working on the Brattain line forever. Cordelia's migration pattern is IL>Mt. Pleasant, Henry, Iowa, USA(1880)(married there in 1863 at the age of 14 years), Washington Twp, Ringgold, IA (in 1900), Everett City, Snohomish, Washington, USA(Jan 1920), Seattle,King,Washington (after 1920 and before 1930). Her children's names are: Harry L. Brattain(born abt 1865 in IA) who married May or Mary, James Brattain(born abt 1868 in IA) who married Bessie, William Brattain (born abt 1868 in IA) (died at age six), Raymond Brattain (born Mar 1871 in IA) who married a Myrtle or Martha and Odessa Brattain (born 25 Jul 1888) (died at age 13).
