Seeking info on the family of John GOOTEE nee Jean GAUTIER, b. ca 1640 in France and left from England for America arriving on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in February 1661/1662, sponsored by Antoine LeCOMPTE. John died 26 Mar 1711 in Dorset Co, Md. Evidently John/Jean left his wife and two sons in France or England. Marguerite Gautier and son Joseph arrived in 1671 and her servitude was completed in 1677. I'm not sure how John Jr arrived in America. Believe that Marguerites name was BEESON or BESSON and that her Father or Brother, Ettiene (Steven), Gent. entered into partnership with John / Jean for several plots of land in Maryland. John, Marguerite and Steven was naturalized in 1671, listed as citizens of France. After arrival in Maryland this couple had a dau. that married John COLE. Any assistance or suggestions will be appreciated. New email addy: bobgootee71@comcast.net | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
