Query Text:

I am seeking information on acquiring land records in Idaho County. My Grandfather, George M. Annable, homesteaded 159 acres which he recieved after serving in the Indian Wars of 1890's, in 1921 in Red River Idaho. He lived there until 1930, and due to bad health and probably the depression, left the land and moved to Oregon. My question is "What happened to the land"? There is no evidence that he sold the land before he left. It appears he just walked off and left it. He died without a will, his wife died about 20 years later, also without a will, so no information regarding what happened to the land has been found. I have the legal discription of the land, the surveyors notes, and the patent number and verification of his ownership. Does anyone have any ideas about how I would go about researching this further? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
