searching for information on the knapp/sprague familys. david b and clarissa knapp are parents of my great grandmother corinna, mary and wright knapp. and orry and sarah sprague are clarissa's parents, i think. the family was from east fishkill, shenandoah area, were farmers, and lived there for generations.corinna married john jacob smith of east fishkill, ny. he was born in the 1857. he had an older brother, henry smith, who died in the civil war. corinna and john had 2 family farms and a hotel that they lost after john's death in the 1920s. their children were clara, alice roosevelt, and wright, who died young. alice is my grandmother who married francis jones of red hook. my other great grandmother was abigail russell jones, of red hook, ny. she married my great grandfather jones. i am unsure of his first name. they both died a bit after the turn of the century as my grandfather was born in 1898 and was five or six when they died. the family had also lived in the area for generations. my grandfather was francis jones. am trying to trace family connections. any information pls contact me. thanks, david miller | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
