Elijah Thomas and Ruth A(Rutha) Smith Wilson appear on the 1870 Lavaca County, TX census. Elijah is on the 1900 Greer County, OK/TX census, married 31 years. Ruth died in 1898 and is buried in Beckham County, Ok. This would make their marriage about 1867. Elijah was a disabled CSA private and lived with family and friends most of his life according to his CSA pension application. Ruth and Elijah lived near Elijah's uncle James T and Malona (Hall) Wilson. They have a Susan Smith, daughter, living with them on the 1860 Lavaca Census. Couls this Susan and Ruth be the same person?? Could Malona be Ruth's aunt or mother?? Maybe a marriage license would helpme find out.
