Clara Moore/Settles of Marion County Ky. New Market area. I am trying to find information about my grandmother, Clara Agnes Moore b.1900 Ky d.1946 Ky She md Charles Edgar(Shorty)Settles and they had 12 children in Marion Co. Several had died early in life. I know Mr Settles is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetary as well as most of his family. My father was only 6 years old when his mother, Clara Moore died and I have no info on her, who her parents are etc. Anyone researching the Moores with any help would be greatly appreciated. I believe I have an Aunt of Clara Moore, Named Ann Elizabeth (Annie) that was with Clara in the 1900 and 1930 Census all as Claras Aunt. Ann's parents were George Washington Moore and Elizabeth Livers. They had 10 children. Clara was to young to have been a sister to Ann. I am assuming from names and dates to the connection of the family. Through the years I have heard that Clara may have been Indian, adopted, or had been born out of wedlock and raised by other family members to escape humiliation to the family. Catherine Moore may have also been a sister to Ann. Catherine Moore md. Robt. Buckman. Records show Clara as Catherines daughter in the 1900 Census, but as a servant in the 1910 census. PLEASE HELP me solve this mystery. Thanks, Susan Settles | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
