We are searching for the descendants of John Carpenter, Revoluntionary War soldier, who settled in the Washington/Monroe/Belmont county area after Carpenter's Station was burned (near present day Rayland, OH) My grandfather was Thomas Milton Carpenter, son of Thomas Edward Carpenter, son of Francis Carpenter. All were from the Monroe Co. area. We have been unable to establish the connection between Francis and John Carpenter. Can anyone out there help us?
