I'm looking for James B SALTER. Our family bible shows that James was born May 12 or 19 in 1820, (we believe in South Carolina) He married Orpha GRAVES in Greene County, Indiana October 10, 1839. (we have verified this) We can't verify Orpha's birthdate (April 18, 1820 bible entry). We do know they had several children together: Mary Jane, born 16 November 1840 John W, born 27 or 29 1842 (he served with the Company K, 40th Infantry out of Clay City, IL) James H, born 28 June 1844 Sarah Ann, born 7 August 1846 Mandy Malissa, born 29 May 1850 The family moved to Indian Creek Twp, Monroe County, IN (1850 Census). Orpha died April 10 1852 (in Monroe Co, In I believe) I hope someone else ou there can help, and we can put our information together. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
