jimmy sandy was my great grandfather. he came to the united states from scotland in the early to mid 1800s.he and his wife martha came up the cape fear river and setteled in the south eastern part of north carolina in the county of hoke.the town is raeford.i know our last name was not sandy originaly.my grandfather told me they changed our last name to sandy because people had a hard time pronouncing our real name.he told me the real name but i cannot remember it.i have ask other members of the family but apparently he never told anyone else.would appreciate any help! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
