Searching for my great-grandfather,Edwin H Davis born in VA about 1821. He left VA and migrated to Missouri before 1845. I am not sure what his father's name was but it could be John Davis, since he named his first son, John and his second son, Alexander after my g grandomther's father, Alexander Baker of MD. I have no knowledge of the route he traveled from VA to MO and I realize, with the boundry changes back in the early 1800's, the records (?) could be in W.VA, KY, IL, OH, or there could be no record I would appreciate any help any one can give as I have worked on this for many years.
