Giles Riggs first appeared in Beaufort Co. NC in 1745 when he witnessed a deed. His wife was Mary? as evidenced by 1790 Census and his children were Shadrack, David, Giles Jr. and several females. He died in Craven Co. in 1787 and his parents are unknown. Have researched all the Riggs in several counties, Craven, Pamlico, Beaufort, Carteret, Onslow, etc. Have information on several Riggs Families in those areas, but no clue as to the father of Giles Riggs possibly born in VA ca 1725? David and Shadrack died in Craven County, but Giles Jr. seems to have disappeared. He lost his land, so if he died there, he had nothing and does not appear in estate records or court minutes.
