David Wharton received land grants in 1707 in Bath Co. NC on South River in what was later Craven Co. and then Carteret County NC. He died 1712 Bath Co. NC during Tuscaurora Indian War. Left a son, David Wharton, my husband's ancestor who lived in Beaufort Co. Mary Hobbs was the greatest creditor and administered the estate until she married Thomas Harris in Craven Co. NC. David was raised by this couple and named his children, Thomas, Mary, James & Lucresey. Are the last two names a clue to his real parents? Have searched NC and some counties in VA where this name appeared. Need information on parents of David Wharton died 1712 Bath Co. NC. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
