Looking for the parents of F.N. Brashear ("F" was for Felix but he also went by the name Filip and F.N. Brashear. His death record is misspelled in KY vital stats death records as "Phillip" also he is listed as "Felix" in the 1870 Larue County KY Census) born in 1840 died in 1914 in LaRue county KY. Married to Paralee Brite Upton ( one of the two daughters of George Washington Upton founder of the town of Upton KY which straddles the Hardin and Larue county lines). G.W. Upton's other daughter was Dickey Esler Upton who married a man named "King" and G.W. Upton's son was Asbury. Asbury was married but died when he was 27 years of age. Don't know if he had any children. Dicky Esler Upton King had one son named "Cube" King, not aware of the other children's names. Paralee Upton and F.N. Brashear had many children: Daisy, Agnes (Married Fletcher), Ora , Minnie, Grover Elroy (married Maude Shoat), Jesse (never married), Lawrence (married twice, second wife Sarah Ellen Payton), Robert Upton (was murdered as a young man). Felix Brashear was orphaned when he was around 9 years of age and lived with his brother and sister with their maternal grandmother Catherine Wyatt Watkins, widow of William Watkins. Her daughter Nancy Watkins married Edwin Brashear son of Edward Brashear. Edward's father was also an Edward Brashear and they are related to Eden Brashear. This branch of Brashear's hails from Maryland, Felix Brashear was named after his uncle Felix Watkins in Hardin or Larue County KY,that is all I can remember presently. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
