I am looking for information on Madison Murphy m. to Edney (Edna) Shackleford (dau of Richard Shackleford). Madison and Edney and their family were on the 1850 census in Coosa Co., Ala. Madison was born in Georgia in 1819. Madison's father was probably Joseph Murphy b. bet 1780-1790, and he may have been in Dade Co., Georgia in 1840. If anyone has any data on this family, I would be happy to share whatever information I have on them, which isn't very much. I am looking forward to hearing from researchers interested in this Murphy family. I'm beginning to think that I'm the only person in the world descended from them. Thanks for your help.
