According to family records, my ggrandparents, Henry Austin and Frances Ewing Carpenter owned land in both DeKalb and Gentry Counties in Missouri between 1874 and 1901. I think Frances also had brothers John B and George and a sister, Jeanne Ewing Kersey. John B and George later moved to Kansas. I would appreciate help in locating any family connections in DeKalb and Gentry Counties and also need information about where to find land records from the late 1800s if I make a trip to Gentry and DeKalb Counties.
