I am looking for descendants and relatives of descendants of Benjamin and Tillie Flashenberg of Brooklyn, NY. Benjamin was born in October 1883 in Poland when it was part of Austria. Tillie's maiden name was Rosenbaum, she also came from Poland and was born in 1886. They came to the United States late 19th-early 20th century. Their children were born in Brooklyn N.Y. as follows: Bessie, born 1905. She is my paternal Grandmother. She married Alfonso Torregrossa about 1926. Isidor a son was born about 1909. In August 1930 he married Dorothy Kennedy. David, a son was born about 1916. He passed away from diabetes in 1948. Bessie's children and grandchildren grew up knowing Bessie's sister Belle. However, Belle does not show up on any census records for the family. Belle worked for Lord and Taylor, got married and moved to Philadelphia area. She had a daughter named Sheila or Sybil. I want to know more about the missing parts of my heritage so as to compile a complete history of the family as well as reconnect if possible. I am seeking any and all anecdotes, family legends, photos and so on. Bessie also used the name of Blanche. Sometimes the family name was given to me as Fleischenberg and other times as Flashenberg. On Bessie's marriage certificate it is Flashenberg as her maiden name.
