My granddaughter, born Victoria Jayne Tilling at Peterborough District Hospital on 10th December 1993, was given up for adoption at birth, she is now called Leanne Victoria, her parents are Gail and Alan, the adoption was through Social Services in Cambridge. She is a much loved and sadly missed member of our family; all her life her photo has hung on my wall with all the other family photos. Leanne is not a secret, we all talk about her often, I have kept a journal for her from the day she was born, bought a birthday card for her every year and not a day has passed when I haven thought of her. Much as I didn't want Leanne given up for adoption, I accept she would have had a pretty crappy life otherwise, her mum made the right decision for the right reasons, she did a very brave thing, but now Leanne is 18 and we all live in hope that she will be searching for us.
