Query Text:

I am looking for more information about 2 brothers, CHARLES and DAVID MCCUTCHEON. I have them as both being born in Mono Twp, Dufferin County, Ontario, but I have no dates. CHARLES married ELIZA AMELIA TANNER, they had at least one son SAMUEL MCCUTCHEON, b. 1846 in Mono Twp. DAVID married MARY ELLEN HICKS, possibly born in Mulmur Twp, Dufferin County, Ontario. They had at least one child, daughter EMILY, b.August 3,1853 in Mulmur Twp. SAMUEL and EMILY (1st cousins), married February 7, 1872 in Mulmur Twp, Dufferin County, Ontario. They had 15 children: WILLIAM CHARLES b.November 18, 1872 MARY ELIZA b. April 16, 1874 CHARLOTTE b. April 16, 1874 (my gr-grandmother) SARAH AGNES b. February 28, 1878 DAVID (D.S) b. October 31, 1880 HANNAH ELTHEL GERTRUDE b. August 05, 1881 SAMUEL EDGAR NORMAN b. December 22, 1882 JOSHUA HERBERT MILTON b. June 14, 1884 IDA ELLEN AMELIA b. January 13, 1886 GORDAN DOUGLAS HECTOR MILBORN b.June 1887 CLARENCE MELFORD SEYMOUR b. April 19, 1889 EMILY THERESA HATTIE BEATRICE b. April 5, 1891 ROBERT LEONARD b. April 2, 1893 FLORENCE MAY b. May 1895 LULU MAY VICTORIA b. December 5, 1898 I would like to find out who Charles and David's parents were and where they came from, and birthdates etc. I have most pertinent information from these children down to the present, all their marriages and children. But I am stuck at Charles and David. Do their approx. birth dates (1810 - 1820) fall before the time when registration of births was required? I am still trying to find out which Churches they might have attended in that area. They would have been Presbyterian or Methodist. Does anyone have a list of churches that would have been operating in the Dufferin County area around 1846? And I have no way of looking at the census for that time either, so if there is someone out there who has access to a census for the time periods (1825-1850), please drop me a line or two. I am willing to share a large family file and some photos. Thank you in advance! Angela Loppe
