I am searching for my biological grandmother and grandfather and descendants of them. My mother was adopted in 1919. She was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota December 24, 1917 as Anna Margaret (Marguerite) Nelson to a Anna Nelson age 21 (born about 1896). Birth certificate lists father as unknown. Later in 1919 my mother was adopted out of North Dakota Children Home Society in Fargo, North Dakota by John and Josephine Shay of Pettibone, North Dakota. She was then named Berlette Roselia Shay. A year ago my mother's adoption file was opened and I found out her father was an Irish soldier who died in WWI. The mother is of Norwegian and Irish descent. Help! | |||||||||||||||||||||
