Researching the Underwood's of Macon, Autauga and Bullock Counties. My gggrandfather was Tom Underwood b: abt Oct 1849, in Alabama, he may have been from the Georgia area before coming to be in the Alabama area. Also, that his father-Joe Underwood b: abt 1819 was probably from the North or South Carolina area. His mother-Fannie was born in North Carolina abt 1822. Because it's said that Tom's dad was probably born a slave, as with his father's, father who was from Africa. Tom Underwood married one Clarissa Baldwin, unknown as to dates and places. Her parents were Paschal Baldwin and Melvina(maiden name unknown). Anyone with information about these or other related families, we'd love to hear from you.
