Looking for info on THOMAS MORELAND b. 1820 Allegheny County PA. Married to Emily Jones b. Southside, Pittsbugh 1812. He was a blacksmith. His name is mispelled on the 1850 census as Meriland or Merlind. They lived in and around the BUTLER STREET section an at Butler and 57th Street. They lived next to Allegheny Cenmetery in Pittsburgh and are buried there as well. They had 9 children so I know that someone in Allgeheny County has ties to this family. Their daughter Nancy Moreland Dallas belonged to the First Presbyterian church on 6th Street where she and Thomas Dallas were married, and Thomas and Emily attended the Presbyterian Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, which no longer exists. Upon Emily Jones Moreland's passing April, 18, 1903- they said that she was the oldest living resident of Lawrenceville. Does anyone have obits? Newsclippings? I have been unable to find anything on either of them! HELP!! Is there some sort of Blacksmith's association,or records held anywhere for such? anything? | |||||||||||||||||||||
