I am trying to locate the burial location of August Zakrzewski, who was born in Omaha Nebraska in August of 1902 and died in a naval disaster (Point Honda) off the coast of CA in 1923. He was returned here to Omaha and buried with full military honors in St. Mary Magdalene's Cemetery. The Cemetery Office does not have the burial location for that time frame. Does anyone know the exact or even close, location of August's grave? Does anyone know someone who may have attended his funeral on Sept 23, 1923? It was attended by over 2000 people from his home, to St. Stanislaus Church, to the Cemetery, with the American Legion of South O performing the military honors. I would really like to know where he is - he does not have a military marker either and deserves one! :) I am related to August through my maternal grandmother, Angelina Barbara Mendyk Czaplewski. Thanks! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
