Helena Elene Adams born 1928-1930 to Charles Adams (mother unknown, possibly died in childbirth). Believed to be from Manchester, England and moved to Bermuda around 1938-1940. Married in Bermuda to an American in the Navy, James Allen Stuart in May 1946. Marriage certificate states she was 17, but interviews with Helena's daughter suggest she might have been 15. Consent to marry was given by a guardian named Eliza Woods. Witnesses were Rose Mazzotti and W. Hayward. Helena moved with her husband to the US days after the wedding. A "passenger information" record indicates that she had a brother Arthur E. Adams living in Bermuda at the time she entered the US. She died in 2003. I am looking for more information on Helena's life in Bermuda and any records or information on her birth and life in England.
