GROBLER | |||||||||||||||||||||
Query Text: |
I want to trace the Grobler name back to the oldest record of the name. I have a hunch that it started in Norway, and moved down eastern europe to germany, and then down to south africa. I think the first Grobler going to South Africa was Christiaan Grobler. Where did he originate from? I know there are some Groblers in the US and UK, would be interesting to see who was the first individuals who went over there, though it might be completely different lines at random moving there. The Groblers that went to the US might have been Jewish refugees from Poland in WWII. Are there any Jewish roots in the name? I doubt whether the name is of Jewish decent, but I've heard of Jews in America bearing the name. | |||||||||||||||||||||
