Looking for any information on the following families: Henry Clay Gray (born about 1845 in Kentucky) and his wife Ardelia Leigh Ann Flack (a.k.a Ardelia Leeann Flack a.k.a Ardelia Lee Ann Flack a.k.a Lilly Gray a.k.a Lillie Gray a.k.a Lily Gray) In the 1880 Census Henry is 35, Lillie is 22, Virgil Elgin Gray is 1. They live in Guthrie, Todd County, Kentucky. By 1910 Mrs. Lilly Gray is a widow living in Montgomery County, Tennessee with four of her children: Robert, Nellie, Douglas and Will H. Henry and Lilly had 8 surviving children those not listed above are Ussery Gray (married Lillian Norene Wright), Walter (may have married Maud Smith) and Pearl Gray (married John Ingram.) Robert Gray marries Ida Belle Davis. Nellie Gray marries Forrest Mannie Rorie, Sr. Will Hunter Gray drowned in the Cumberland River in 1937 or so. Virgil married Annie Lee Powell. Douglas relocated to Louisville, Kentucky where he was living in 1968. Our family notes indicate that Ardelia Flack was the daughter of John W. Flack and that she had the following siblings: Ross, Bailey, J. W., and Milen. The 1880 census shows this Flack family with Jane as a widow and head of the household. Ardelia is not there since she married Henry Gray in 1878. I have been unable to locate that Flack family in the 1870 census although there is an Ardelia Flack in Trenton, Todd County, Kentucky who is the right age. She is in the household of Thomas P. Flack whom I believe is Thomas Pinknie Flack. I suspect that Henry C. Gray is staying at the farm of Benjamin C. Gray in Sangammon, Illinois during 1870. Benjamin C. Gray was born near Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky. In the photo, Great Grandma Gray is Lilly / Ardelia Flack. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
