Girl born 09/15/1949 to a young couple. As much as I know, the father was around 19, named James Allen. Mother was 16 and named Cynthia. According to what I have been told, Cynthia's parents were very poor, and also in poor health. They went to the Allen Family and it was decided that they would give the baby up for adoption at what today is known as Child Servces, but then it was called Prevention of Cruelty to Children. They actually borrowed this name from the animalsociety. I know that Cynthia probably had a Polish name, as that was the area where I grew up, near Father Baker's. I sumise I may have been given to that institution. My adoptive parents knew very little else, and upon their deaths, there was never any paperwork to be found. It is my understanding that the Allen's had several children and that James Allen was connected somehow to the Buffalo School system, but I have searched many records and found no listing for a James Allen. I also, somewhere in the back of my mind, believe they were Catholic. I have wondered all my life about the people who gave birth to me. I had a good life growing up, and still live in the area. I want nothing from these people, but would like to meet them or their families. Any help would be appreciated.
