Looking for descendants of my great great aunt Miryam. Her maiden name was Distenfeld and she was originally from Dorna Vatra Austria. She had sisters named Fannie, Rose and Esther (my great grandmother) and a brother Bernard. Fannie, Esther and Bernard eventually came to America. Rose stayed in Europe. Esther married Rubin Lessing, Fannie married Hyman Steinberg, and Bernard married once in Austria, leaving behind a wife and child and then came to the US to start a new life. She was married once in Austria, got divorced and hid during the Second World War. She then left for Israel when the quotas to come to the US were filled. It is believed that she married the postmaster of either Haifa or Tel Aviv. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
