Query Text:

I'm searching for my biological mom & dad, I was born in Rome NY on August 7th 1970 and was adopted at the age of two, to a couple that lived in Massena NY Barbara & Lynn Smith. I've been told that my adoption was a public adoption & was handled by Social Services in Utica NY. All my birth certificate states is my adopted parents names Lynn & Barbara Smith, it doesn't state my biological parents names. Below is all I know about myself and was told by my adopted parents. My birth certificate is from the state of New York, I picked it up myself at the City Hall in Rome NY. "My birth certificate states as follows" FULL NAME OF CHILD: Lori Jean Smith SEX: female DATE OF BIRTH: 08/07/1970 PLACE OF BIRTH: Rome MAIDEN NAME OF MOTHER: Barbara J. Safran NAME OF FATHER: Lynn A. Smith DATE FILED: 08/12/1970 I was adopted out at the age of two in 1972 to a couple in Massena NY, my adopted father worked for the railroad company CSX and my adopted mom was a stay at home mom and after I got a little older she became a school teacher. My adopted mom wasn't any help to me when it came to my adoption, before I meet my husband all my adopted mom ever told me was "I was taken from a crib" All my life I knew something wasn't right but it took my husbands support to help me stand up to my adopted mom to get a little more in site on my adoption. My husband flipped out when he heard "taken from a crib" was all I was ever told about my adoption, it just blew his mind !!! After I stood up to my adopted mom all she clams to remember is it was a public adoption through the Social Services Agency in Utica NY in Oneida County. My adopted mother clams they drop-ed me off at there residence in Massena NY. she never has made it clear to me who they were, I'm assuming it was Social Services. My adopted mom can't remember the building, social workers name, or anything she clames. Also I would like to add that my adopted mom clames she never recived any paper work on my adoption from the social service agency. So even at this point I feel like a lost satellite out in outer-space! I've called Social Services in Utica and they said that my adopted parents would have received papers on my adoption, papers stating what I liked to eat and do plus my health background and they also said they only recall adopting out mostly new borns back in those years. The social service agency clams they've had folks to call and say there papers were misplaced or lost but never someone calling calming there were never no papers. I'm now thirty nine and still know nothing about myself! Feeling hopeless to ever finding out the truth I decided to do this profile in hope to find my biological mom or dad. The older I get I see we all as humans make mistakes and I would never be upset at my biological parents for adopting me out, I'm sure at the time it was the only thing they could do I just want a chance to know them! It's like the old saying goes blood is thicker than water, but I wouldn't know because I've never meet my blood and I want to experience what it feels like to be with blood relatives before it's to late. If your out there reading this and you think I might be a relative of yours or if your reading this and you were adopted from the state of New York like me and would like to share your story please feel free to email me at loriwhitt@rocketmail.com
