I live in Loveland, OH. My question is below: I have a reference to a Will of a Pierce Phillip in the index of NC Will Abstracts. In the "P" section there is a Pierce Phillip, wife Betty and children Farewell, James Jr., Brin. The Will was dated 1807. My ancestor is James Pierce Phillip and he is my 'brick wall'. I have searched for 20 years to find his parents and siblings to no avail. Some documents I have say he was born NC while others say he was born VA. The above mentioned Will is a possible 'clue' because a James Jr. is mentioned there. The name Pierce is spelled the same and my ancestor could have his father's surname as his middle name which often happens. He migrated to Jackson CO., TN, lived there, raised a family, died there and is buried in Overton Co., TN I have all his information including his Land Grant property to the present. Where/how can I request a copy of the Will? The call number of the Abstract book is: 975.6 P280 and counties of Tyrone and Lincoln are mentioned.
