The following is text contained in what appears to be a typewritten death notice or telex. The subject, Robert Best would have been my maternal grandmother's brother. His parents Edward and Jane were known to be in USA between 1904-1906, living in Pittsburgh area (Braddock and Hummerville possibly). My Maternal Grandmother Elizabeth Ann Best was born in Pittsburgh in 1906. The family returned to UK in 1906. The undated message reads: "Pittsburgh U.S.A" - child drowned in shallow pool. Toddling infant slipped from foot-log in rear of his home. Robert Best, 2 year old infant drowned at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the rear of his home. Near the Best home which is close to Munhall's Hollow is a water course..." The message goes onto describe more detail about the drowning and closes with the following: "The case was investigated by Samuel F O'Brien DEPUTY CORONER" Any asisstance in uncovering more detail about this incident and the family's residences would be extremely helpful | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
