I am looking for information about Hiram B. Chase and his wife, Almira Trotter Chase. Hiram was born in Virginia in 1829, is said to have moved to Ohio, then to Iowa in 1845. He is listed in Wapello, Iowa, on the 1850 federal census. He and Almira relocated to Port Kenyon, Humboldt County, California, in 1876. Hiram died there on 27 Sep 1887 and is buried in Ferndale Cemetery. I am particularly interested in information on Hiram's parents (he was born in Virginia) and in locating an obituary on Almira Trotter Chase who died in Port Kenyon (Ferndale), Humboldt County, California, on 09 Jan 1910.
