My grandmother, Mary Josephine Dowling, was born on 28 Sept. 1896 at 10 Nelson Street, Dublin. Her father, Owen Dowling, was from Naas and was a member of the Dublin Metropolitan Police. Her mother was Mary Kelly-Dowling, presumably of Dublin. Both parents apparently died before my grandmother was old enough to remember them. Circa 1920 she came to Canada (Montreal).
