I'm looking for information on my Gt Gt Grandfather, John Sheridan Gilbert. He was born in Co Wicklow in 1833 (est). John S Gilbert married Elizabeth Cannon in 1856 in Belfast. My Gt Grandfather, John Cannon Gilbert, was born in Co Cork in 1862 (+/-1yr). John S and Eliza may have had up to 8 children. In 1881 John S is listed in Ballina, Co Mayo where he was a teacher, possibly running the Methodist/Wesleyan church in the town. He and Elizabeth are listed in the 1901 Census of Ballina. John Cannon Gilbert married Martha Jane Vogan in 1889 in Belfast. They had 4 children and are all listed in 1911 Census of Belfast. Any help would be appreciated. Particularly any tips on finding birth records for co wicklow in 1833.
