Researching for info on my children's Brazilian ancestry. The info that I have is as follows: Grandfather, Manoel Jorge Lydia born around 1900 presumably in Rio and attended Maritime Academy in Rio. He lived in Rio and published a weekly maritime newspaper named : Jornal Martimo. There is a street in Rio named after him. Grandmother, Camilla Villa Hettenhausen-Lydia born in Rio around 1902, her father's name was Amadeo Villa and in 1914 they resided at Rua Ribiro, Guanabara, Rio. Her grandparents were presumably William & Mary Hettenhausen. William was born in Germany and Mary (nee: Mack-Peck) was born in NYC around 1862. I have reason to believe they were connected to the Methodist Episcopal Church in Brazil. Mauoel & Camilla had 5 children: Mildred Hettenhausen Lydia, Muriel (de Castro Rocha, husband Cesar (doctor) resided in Botofogo in 1971), Mury Jorge Lydia, Mauro Jorge Lydia and my children's dad, Mark (Marque) Jorge Lydia, born 10/16/1945. He died in 12/1992 in Miami, Fla. Any more info on family would be greatly appreciated so I can add info to family tree. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
