I am searching for information on Peter C. Taylor bor around 1810 in Amherst County, Va., who wa a Farm Manager, lived in Bedford County in 1850, was married to Nancy Duff in Amherst County and she died on 1 July 1835. He also died in Amherst County 4 July 1890. They also had a son Joseph or Josiah Taylor born in Sept of 1841/1843 who served in the Military, Second Virginia Cavalry, Company E Amherst Mounted Rangers on June 15, 1862. I do not know anything about Peter's parents. One of his daughters Mary E. Taylor is my Great Grandmother. I have been told by family members that Mary Taylor was a niece to President Zachary Taylor but I have found nothing that would lead me to believe that is true.
