Could anyone tell me how the town of Harris got it's name in Humboldt County California? It's Founder also of Harris Street, Harris Post Office and Harris Ridge? I was told that Harris Creek was named after my Great Grandfather James Wesley Harris who resided in Humboldt County. I am also searching for info on him and his wife Molly(Native American) and previous wife Elizabeth Cooksey (Simons). Other names that marriedinto this family was Bagley, Wilson, Brown and Masten. Any help would be greatly appreciated on my Harris side. I believe James (John) W Harris passed away in 1915/17 and was supposedly from NY and had married Elizabeth in Linn County Oregon in 1862/63. Thankyou for your help. Sincerely, Kathy Harris 3487 SW 170th ave. Beaverton oregon 97006 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
