I am looking for the birth parents of my son. He was born December 22, 1966 at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California to a 22 year old young woman who was not able to provide him with the sort of home she wanted for him. She is 5' 8" tall, had brown hairand brown eyes, she had been working as a bar maid when she met his father who was not able to marry her and was a ship pipefitter in the Navy. His birth mother is part Cherokee. His birth father is about 5'10", had brown hair and eyes and was 29 years old at the time of Matthew's birth. Our son is 6' 6" tall, brown hair, blue eyes. He is quite handsome. We adopted him through The Los Angeles Bureau of Adoptions; at the time of the adoption the office location was on Ocean Blve. in Long Beach, CA. We are attempting this search for Mathhew's birth parents in order to learn of any health issues he may be facing in the future. Currently he is in good health, however, he does have Essential Tremors which we understand is hereditary. We do not wish to intrude on his birth parents lives, however, if either or both of them would like to contact me, his adoptive mtoher, I am open to hearing from them; most especially to thank them for giving us the blessed opportunity to love and parent Matthew. Jamieson is our last name. I do not know the names of Matt's birth parents. In 1967 that sort of information was not given to the adopting parents. 3/02/09 I have just learned our son's birth mother's last name is Taber. Also, in case this might help her to find us, the info we were given about her at the time of the adoption is that she was 22 years old, brown hair and brown eyes, 5feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds. She enjoyed swimming and horseback riding. She completed high school and had worked as a waitress and barmaid. The birth father was 29 years old, 5ft 10inches tall, was a shipfitter in the Navy. He was not free to marry the birth mother. I do hope this additional info may be helpful. By the way I changed his birthdate from 12/28/66 to 12/22/66.
