I am looking for a Philip Augustus Scheel (Schell) who was born in Vacha, Germany abt. 1818. He immigrated to the United States in 1848 and settled in Frederick County, Maryland. He was married in or around Vacha to Catharine Arnocker (who was from Weimer, Germany) and they had one son Henry (Sometimes referred to as Theopulis) who was born in 1847 in Vacha. They traveled over to the United States from Bremen, Germany on the ship the Goethe and arrived in the Port of Baltimore in March 1848. What I am looking for is for either someone to advise me where I need to write in Vacha to see if they have birth records and or if someone already has the information I am researching.
