my blue eyed grandson was born with a broken collar bone in shreveport, louisiana, in August 1986 at highland hospital and adopted through an agency that worked with the hospital called something like hope adoption agency, based in dallas,tx. His b-mother leslie and b-father joe david met and chose the adopting parents that were both school teachers I was told. At the time of birth the b-parents lived in marshall,tx., she was 16 he was 17. This baby boy's b-father is my son. I wanted to adopt my grandson, but had no say so in the decision. I spoke to an attorney that told me as far as he knew there had never been a legal battle in the courts with grandparents fighting for the their rights to adopt a grandchild and with no guarantee it would be an extreme expense, that I could not afford. So I had to give up the battle and pray that my precious grandson had good adoption parents and gave him all the love he needed and deserved. He is 22yrs. old now and I pray my broken heart can be mended. One big hug from him would mend this heart! I now have a total of 7 beautiful grandchildren I have had the priviledge of loving and spending time with and dear grandson you will make 8 although you were the FIRST!
