I am searching for my Birth mother and/or father. I was born July 3, 1964 in Wilmington, DE. My given surname was Sumac. I believe my birth parents were from Milford, De or somewhere near there. I was told that my birth mother had 3 children at the time of my birth. She was apparently married, however I was not born to her husband..in an effort to save the marriage I was given up for adoption. My given first name was Susanna/Susannah or Suzanna/Suzannah. I can't recall the proper spelling. My name was changed upon adoption. I briefly saw a small blue piece of paper with this information on it about 15 years ago that came from my adoptive dad's files, which has since disappeared as he disapproved of me gaining this type of knowledge. It also listed my nationality as being Spanish..I often wonder if there is some American Indian in the blood..I have dark olive skin, dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. I have a large, strong frame. My youngest daughter re-emphasizes our possible origins as she also has very beautiful dark olive skin, with eyes as big and black as night. I was adopted through Catholic Social Services in Wilmington, De in October of 1964. My adoptive parents had adopted a baby boy in 1962 through Catholic Social Services as well. I then lived with my adoptive family in Sussex County Delaware where I grew up. My adoptive father shares the same birthday with me..he was 41 and my adoptive mother was 39 at the time of my adoption. My adopted brother and I shared a good life with our adoptive parents growing up and we are all still living.
