August Ferdinand Schalow immigrated to Reed City, Osceola county, Michigan in 1882 from Granow,Arnswalde, Brandenburg, Prussia with his wife Ernestine Wagner and two daughters. There were also four other Schalow, Scharlow families in this area around this time. Most likely they were all related. Herman H., Johann Frederick (John), August, and Augusta.
