My father came to Canada around 1918. He was born in Lovich Bulgaria just outside Sofia Bulgaria. His father, my grandfather - Nicola Stanchoff - was the chief of police. In Bulgaria my father's name was John Stanchoff but it was changed to Evanoff when he arrived in Canada. He had a brother Tony and a sister Irina. His mother was Victoria Toderoff - she was my grandmother and married to Nicola Stanchoff. My father had an uncle whose name was Dimitri Stanchoff who worked as a journalist at the University of Sofia....does anyone know anything about these families....my name is Anne Evanoff and I would like to visit Bulgaria and wonder if I have any relatives there.
