I am from Philadelphia but am trying to learn more about my grandfather's roots. I know little but his name is Jesse Casares (possibly originally Cazarez or Cazares), grew up on a ranch in Laredo Texas, I think his family owned a general store - not sure. He left there at 17 and never went back and really didn't keep in touch but i believe there may be family there. We found out a while ago that he his parents (Ascencion and Concepcion) were from "deep in Mexico." I am wondering if this is a common surname in that area of Texas.
