I am trying to acquire any information available on Civil War veteran John Russell who was born in Australia, lived in or around Marysville and served in either the 1st or 7th Calif. Infantry during the American Civil War. He enlisted as a Private at Marysville, California on 19/19/1864; and was mustered out at Presideo, California on 4/26/1866. Anything on his birth, life, family, descendants, death and especially where he is buried would be appreciated. I am trying to compile a story on him for the Veterans Memorial Website, www.acwv.info.
