My mother was a WWII bride. She married an American GI in 1950, Truman Pradmore. They had a son Terry August 29th,1948 in Dachau. My mother was born Dec.23, 1923 Adeline Leiter in Chatki/Weiss-RuSland according to one documment. On a different documment she was born in Chatki, Kreis Minsk/RuSland. I was always told she was born in Siberia, I believe the Urals. My mother wouldn't let us try to communicate with her family there although they requested it. She stayed in touch many years. She also stayed in touch with a Rudolf Janke. Her last name was spelled different on different documents. Laeter was one and Leiter was another.
