Query Text: |
I am trying to identify the Newcomb (Nucomb?) who married Amanda Miller b. Connecticut 1780. They had a daughter Adaliza Jane (aka Eliza Jane) b. Oct 1835 in New York State (possibly NYC). Mr. Newcomb died before 1850 and Amanda remarried to James McGrath b. Maine abt 1787. In Jan 1852 Adaliza Jane Newcomb married Ezra Van Camp in Lexington, Sanilac County, MI. They had five known children before Ezra's death (apparently by murder) in 1865. On Aug 19 1869, Jane remarried to a widower named Thomas Stapleton. He and his late wife Tamar Leavitt were both born in England and had arrived in Sanilac County after first emigratng to Ontario. After Thomas died in September 1881, Jane went to live with her son Milton and his family. In 1900 she was living in Buell Twnship with son Milton Van Camp and his family. She died in Fremont Township, Sanilac Co, MI on 14 Jul 1910. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
