FYI-female date of birth app 1866 - 1880 Nebraska census, North Platte, Lincoln County showing 14 year old adopted female child named Jessie Knox living with adopted parents Elijah Lewis, 42 years and wife Mellisia. Jessie Knox was born in Missouri, her birthmother and birthfather were born in Kentucky. She has an adopted brother, 15 (app date of birth 1865) Erwin Smith, male who has also been adopted by Mr and Mrs Lewis. The citation for this census is 1880, Lincoln county, North Platte Precinct, Ed 174, page 16. I have no personal interest in this case. I am a Nebraska researcher and mother of two adopted daughters.
