FYI-1880 Nebraska census Boy born in Kansas approximately 1879 named Charles? M. McCartney. Charles was 1 year old at the time of the census. His adoptive parents were named: John S (30yrs)and Mary S Miller (29 yrs) with siblings Minnie and Susan Miller. The Miller family was living in North Platte, Nebraska in 1880. Charles was born in Kansas, his birthfather (unnamed) born in Iowa, his birthmother (unnamed) was born in Ohio. This census can be found at 1880 NE census, Lincoln County, ED 174 North Plat Precinct page 16 line 22-26. I have no personal interest in this case. I am a Nebraska researcher and mother of two adopted daughters. As I come across adoption information I post it to be of help to others. If you would like a free photocopy, contact me and send a SASE. Good luck- Marty nebraskaresearch.com | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
