In 1802 Gurdon Huntington left CT. I have a record of him buying tracts of land from the Holland Land Office in Batavia, Genesee County, NY on April 27, 1815. Over the ensuing years he bought and sold several more tracts of land. He lived in the Batavia area until about 1835 when he and wife Polly moved to Somerset, Niagara County, NY and lived there until they died (Headstone: Gurdon d. Sep. 15, 1867, Polly d.1867). The Huntington Genealogy states that he did business in Rochester, Monroe County, NY for some time as well, but I can find no record of that. Wife Polly may by Mary "Polly" Brown. There is some speculation about who she is. I have heard she is from Vermont, but I don't even know that for sure.
